To show the volume or to control the volume?

If you can set whatever remote you're using to control the sound bar volume directly instead of using HDMI CEC through the TV, you won't see the volume on the screen anymore.
I have a Samsung HW-J550 soundbar, connected to my Bravia and using it with my Shield. The on screen volume bar never shows up, neither on the Shield nor on the Bravia. Controlling the volume with each device's own remote through CEC.
