Old Google TV box - Sony NSZ-GS7

by jcargile242

My 11yo picked one of these up at Goodwill yesterday. He loves fiddling with old tech, and was hoping to get our streaming services working on it. Unfortunately he's being stymied by a bad password error at the Google login. I verified that he's using the correct password. At this point I'm pretty sure it just won't work, but my son isn't willing to give up until the brilliant hivemind of reddit says it's a lost cause. So, does anyone here have any genius ideas I can pass along to him? Thanks.

Unless any accounts were erased before factory resetting any Google device then you need the password to (one of) the account(s) previously registered to the device. See if your son can find out that information. Otherwise, unfortunately, for security purposes, ie to avoid stolen devices, it won't be much better than a doorstop.
