Truly horrendous. Today is the day I switch to Wolf Launcher. Just got it all set up. If I wanted half my home screen to be fucking ads I would have bought a piece of shit Roku.

Same here. I would love suggestions for any way to disable these ads. I fear it's an Android TV update no limited to nVidia, so moving onto a different Android box may not be an answer.

I'm with you dude. With the cheaper Chromecasts and Fire TVs the ads at least make sense because they "subsidize" the devices but with the shield being a premium device it's kind of weird to have them. Maybe they could keep the new interface but make it straightforward to use custom launchers as a compromise?

Anyway to get the wolf launcher similar with continue watching row from the old launcher? I haven't used it yet.

I just opened a ticket with Nvidia but I assume the response I'll get is 'Google made us, nothing we can do'.

I'd drop both my shields in a heartbeat over this if there were a remotely comparable product that didn't do this. Problem is, there isn't any such beast out there. Absolutely furious though :(

This person successfully installed a custom launcher; will be doing the same when my Shield updates downgrades.

Disable Google play services and everything is back to normal

Who cares about the main screen. I only see it on boot up. The majority of the time like 99% I’m watching tv or some other awesome programming
