I believe SmartTubeNext (blue "S" app icon) is the successor to what I previously used SmartYouTubeTv (red "S" icon).
Anyways as of this morning the SmartTubeNext isn't playing videos. Everything loads up fine, you can search etc, but when clicking to play a video it just stays black.
Anyone have input?
There has been some api changes i think and has been very unreliable lately. he's been updating constantly to try to fix the issue hopefully it gets sorted because i never realized how much i need this app until it stopped working !
i just tried a couple videos and it seems fine with 11.40.

on Bravia 2020 tv all updated, SmartTN is 11.40 every other video I get "can't download" or just a spinning wheel. A couple weeks ago it worked almost flawlessly, now its hardly usable.
Anytime I have this issue, it usually means an update is waiting to be installed. Once installed, the app works perfectly again (and what a difference it makes!)
Log-in will fix it, or latest update seems to be ok
It stopped working this morning for me as well. After reading some comments to this thread I checked and I had version 11.21. I upgraded to version 11.40 and now it works again.

This is likely why the the current version (11.40) has had a warning message in the changelog advising against updating for the last several versions (since 11.28 IME) if you're currently happy with the apps functionality..?
Did you try to update to version 11.40. This version have a unplayable fix.
