What's the best android TV homescreen replacement these days?
I know there was one that had to be sideloaded from a random website, so... not that one. Really want something on F-droid or the GPStore.
Ugh this makes me irrationally irritated. WHY. Do it for Google subsidized devices, but not the Shield?? God dammit.
Only reason it upsets me is because I was perfectly happy with the launcher I've had for a while now. But because of this change, I'm going to have to go back to the same kind of hacking I did on my phones back in the day to restore original behavior that I enjoyed more. Kind of a bummer, was really hoping Nvidia would stay exempt from the new interface. I really don't like it or the ads that are pushed.
Nope. Nopitty nope. Not updating anything that will foist ads like this.

As someone who uses both a Google tv and shield I like this. I know most people hate it and ads and whatever but I much rather flip through one screen then go through each app.

Forced ads, anti consumer, zero respect for your hard earned money. I rolled it back because fuck this. Not only do the ads d mom suck but they remove the left interaction menu that let you quickly enter apps. Its all about feeding you the content they want now Ave I regret buying this thing now.
Maybe time to learn to root this thing...

I know I’m in the minority but I actually prefer this UI. Having both 2 shields and 2 google tv Chromecasts….I like the recommendations. I think they have a pretty decent algorithm
