You can long-press the video and select "Not Interested" from the menu, but YouTube somehow is not smart enough to figure which old videos are still relevant and which are not.
Google Discover and YouTube both do this. It's annoying as hell.

Clear your YouTube watched history.
Check the 3 dots and select not interested:install s-tube
Yes, don't see the recommendations, then they will update according to your history
YouTube Kids?
Dislike it and move on.
