Best Sony TV - Maximum budget 2000 EUR

Hi guys!

I am looking to buy a new TV in the following months. I'm a big fan of Sony and I absolutely like the Android TV technology. I did a lot of customizations on the old TV.

I would like your advice on what you think it would be the best option considering:

  • maximum budget 2000 EUR
  • Diagonal of 140 cm
  • Quality of the image is the upmost importance

PS: I've seen the new Sony TV's from 2021, but I'm not sure if it's worth to pay extra for the Cognitive processor for example.

If you’re looking for the absolute best image quality on a current Sony within your budget in 140cm screen size the A80J(or A8J) is probably your best bet.

Honestly I would not go for a Sony TV with Android. I've worked with the previous models in the past (I develop Android TV apps) and they were much much slower than a Shield connected to HDMI. For the money I would just get a nice LG OLED and a Shield if you really want Android TV. That's easier to upgrade too if the Shield ever becomes obsolete. WebOS (or Samsung's Tizen, for that matter) run much speedier on slower hardware, which is why I'd go for that instead.

FWIW, I have a nice Sony and wish I had considered LG more seriously for the money. Assume it's available in your country.

Maybe it's better to get an LG C1 and buy an Nvidia Shield. Otherwise Sony X90J probably is the best option
