I'm looking for an android TV box that would support an ultrawide monitor, the one I have at the moment does not, so everything is streched. I was looking at the Xiaomi mi box s, but it doesn't say if it supports it or not. Thanks.

I know that the Nvidia shield can display the dashboard in ultrawide, but I only used it to test the monitor for a few minutes.
I use a 29 inch 21:9 monitor alongside a 24 inch for my laptop. I realized then that still most of our content is 16:9 as the number of times I see "grey bars". Also, the screen looks way smaller than it is. Since the size is measured diagonally, my 29 inch is smaller in height than 24, 16:9. Also, grey bars on the sides are more annoying than on the top and bottom somehow. Maybe I am too used to see them above and below. But gaming on ultrawide is a totally better experience.
I have a friend who has the Philips 21:9 tv and it's totally a weird tv IMO. Somehow on the computer, I can accept that than on a tv screen. I think a large OLED is the best of both worlds as during black bars on OLED it looks only like a large bezel or when light is dim it totally looks like a 21:9 tv. But honestly 55 is not a big screen size for watching 21:9 content
I've looked at some posts and it seems like it works on the Netflix app on Windows, so maybe I'll have to get a Windows TV thing.
I thought that box was discontinued. but no it doesnt, having helped my younger brother with the same thing
If the EDID for ultra wide-screen resolutions are there the Shield should be able to do it. I suggest you find someone with both and have them test it for you first.
As far as I know, they all support up to 16:9 aspect ratio, they can't even be setup as 4:3 when using the AV output while connected to an old CRT TV.

The real question is what content are you going to watch that has been filmed in the ultrawide aspect ratio. My guess is none exists so anything you watch is going to look stretched if you have it full screen
