Fyi to install an older version not only do you need the right file but if the version you wish to install is older than what is currently installed you must uninstall the newer version first. You can install a newer version over a current install just not an older, without uninstalling first. You can however conserve your setup by renaming the Android/data/Org.kodi folder before uninstalling the package then install the older package then rename back to what it was. This will conserve your setup. Just make sure the rename is completed before launching the new package for the first time.
Yeah, I use 18.0 and 17.6 in a older box
You can just download it from the play store. If you don't have it grab it from the official Kodi website. The best is 19.1 Be careful there are 2 versions of Kodi, one is Arm and I forget the name of the other, sorry I don't use it. Download both and if one doesn't work try the other. If neither works then check the space avaiable on your drive.
You might have downloaded the wrong version for your devices CPU.

ARM will run on both, but ARM64 will only run on ARM64.
