Look, let's be realistic here - I have and own 7 Tivo Stream 4k's been in that community since launch. Tivo has done themselves no favors - although I HAD a decent period of no issues many people had bugs regularly that for them were showstoppers. I had a rock steady and stable system that my kids and wife loved using Tivo (compared to Firestick and Roku we had previously used). Then a few months ago came the YouTube TV issues that progressively became worse and harder to ignore - and Tivo is now MONTHS into not even acknowledging it as an issue or fixing it... I jumped ship to Chromecast with Google TV and everything just works correctly - I would have gladly stayed in the ecosystem but Tivo was just floundering with their first mover advantage that they never took advantage of in my opinion (I still use the Tivo Stream on TV's in the house we dont use YouTube TV on but it is relegated to soon to be replaced status once Google puts up a decent sale...)
Not too surprising. Google has been making some pretty poor choices with Android TV lately. If I were a company considering integrating I'd be wondering what other changes Google might be making to my product after I've already sold it.
That's too bad cause I'd pay to get an OG Tivo 'peanut' remote.
TiVo is a decent android box. I use it for Kodi & IPTV. I watch every single MLB, NHL, NBA & NFL game.
Competition is always good as long as TiVo can get app developers to build apps for their own "Smart TV OS." If not, they are dead in the water.
