ads will never be accepted on hardware that's paid for
Besides the garbage that is LauncherX & its giant homescreen ad on devices we already paid for..?
Google: Look at Android TV 12!
Also Google: We haven't bothered to update our device to Android TV 11.
I hope there will be a powerful Google TV with AV1 support (which is supposed to be mandatory for new AndroidTV devices since April 2021).
Still no info about global release of Google TV software. How am I supposed to develop an update to my app if itβs not available in my local market?
Hoping to see some faster android TV update requirements from Google to the OEMs.
Thanks for the reminder
That's what I hope:
- Improve the usability of the "Live Channels" App. The current button mappings it's crazy. I don't want to exit with the BACK button.
- Include a FULL MAPPING BUTTON functionality to ANY remote. With support of three states: short press, long press and double press.
- Add full DIGITAL TUNER support, for ATSC 3.0, DVB-T/S/C, etc; with native SAT>IP support, and all required support: Teletext, subtitles, multi-audio, multi-camera, UHD, HLG, etc.
Regards.

How to upgrading android 11,in my tv sony 9.
I updated my android tv home and core services and they told me it had visual design updates, when I finished updating, it was the same homescreen. What happened right there?
Hopefully Google will lockdown the ability to install third party launchers. π
It would be nice if they talk about how Android TV users will be unhappy after getting a server side update to put Ads on the home screen of their Android TV.
I'm now using HAL Launcher instead, but I'm really disappointed about being forced to install and setup a 3rd party launcher only to stop some Ads that were not there before.
If I would have known this would have happened I would have bought an LG tv instead.
