Update:

Just a quick update regarding the mobile companion app. It is not feasible to launch the same app in mobile and Android TV with different set of permissions. I have decided to launch the mobile app as a separate app to reduce the number of permissions required in it.

tvusage 5.0.0 for Android TV will be released to everyone over this weekend and the mobile app will be released in upcoming weeks.
