My smartTV is as well not capable of playing smooth streaming content in UHD flawlessly.
That's a result of poor hardware AND bloated software. Sony Bravia,
but just use it for DVB-C, everything else is powered through a PC.
Its not android tv problem. Its just that majority of android tv devices have very weak hardware, resulting in performance issues. If you are using TV with android built in, this applies to you even more.
What have you done to troubleshoot? Which device do you have?
Restart? Not just sleep mode, but actually use the restart option in settings.
Try unplugging and plugging it back in.
Clear cache. I think you can do this in app info. I haven't done this on AndroidTV in quite some time...
Uninstall apps that you aren't using. If your storage is full it could be causing issues with the device.
Lower quality settings on YT. Not sure if your device is made for 4K YT streaming.
I might be missing something... but if you've done all this and still have issues, a factory reset could help. If you start with a clean slate and still have YT issues, you'll know it's the device causing the issue.
