Got my x8500f updated on Wednesday. I like the new design. More info and content on one screen.
The new layout looks very modern. The Discover tab is showing recommendations across all different services. But are they useful?
Will this be available for the X80G?
Sony x900f received the update a little while ago. Yes it has the long press to "play next" feature which i can tell works for YouTube, Disney and plex suggestions but not Netflix. BUT IT HAS PAID ADS You don't want this update. It adds a 'discover bar' row to the top of the page that flicks through i assume paid suggestions from any app, even if you don't have the app. So it's an ad bar that continually shows me FTA commercial tv app suggestions that i don't want and will never use and cannot turn off. On my very expensive lovely giant Sony TV. Very annoyed Thanks Google and Sony, corporate greed won

Got mine for the x900h. I didn't think it was getting the update. I just thought it was for the 2021 models. So I went out and bought the Chromecast with Google tv just a few weeks ago....Should of waited
My 2017 x800 got the update well over a month ago.
How do you get the YouTube TV live to show up, like Google tv has. They should allow this if you have YouTube TV.
Anybody from EU got it on Sony TV? Is there any way to force it?
What I find a little odd is my cheap £350 Hitachi Android TV has the new Android TV home screen however my £200 more expensive Sony Android TV has not. To make it even more confusing, to me anyway, is that my Hitachi hasn't updated since October so how has it got the new home screen without being updated.
After checking my Sony TV it seems the last update was way back in July 2020 which makes me wonder if Sony still support the TV or if they no longer push updates for it as it seems to be very slow at getting updates, only had 3 updates in the couple of years that I've had it for.

Sony A8H, received the update and could see the Discover and Apps tabs but the tv has reverted back to the old style home screen. Firmware update is correct v6.5042. Anyone know why?

I've got my update (on SONY A9G) by making US google account and logging in. Then it reverted back to old android for somer reason. Then I deleted my European Account and only used my new US account and it came back.
Half the people here are full of shit about getting the update.
Does anybody know if this new interface will give us the Watchlist feature or is that a separate update if/when our existing TVs get the full GoogleTV experience?
