Not the subject but i replaced youtube with "smart tube next" to remove adds 😏
For Google TV, only 'Google Approved' apps will show up on the Continue Watching and if it's empty then it hides the whole rail (maybe the content expired or after 30 days its automatically removed or something?)
Working fine on my Android TV leanback launcher atm (but that doesn't require apps to be 'Google Approved' to show content on that rail)
Mine comes and goes at random, haven't figured out what causes it
