I have a lg B7 and I hate not being able to access the play store. A new chromecast with google tv is cheaper than an android tv box, but I've heard stuff like google tv isn't a operating system etc. Couldnt find any direct answers, so I'm a bit confused. Any help would be appreciated.

Indeed it's not an operating system but a new launcher that runs on top of the same old Android TV OS. Besides the Chromecast, it is now available on Sony's new 2021 lineup while TCL is also going to release new TVs with the new interface.

The ccwgtv is pretty much an android tv device with a different interface. I replaced a mibox s with a ccwgtv and miss nothing I would even go as far to say I would have paid more for it. I have/had many android tv devices and the ccwgtv is as good if not better than any except the shield. Your not going to get one for less than msrp so buy one from a place with a return policy and see for yourself.
