Youtube app keeps showing "back to top" on the home screen

Like the title said, since a few weeks the youtube app on my Sony XH90 keeps showing an empty homepage, with just the back to top button (which doesn't do anything).

I've tried clearing cache/data as well as rolling back updates and reinstalling them.

Nothing seems to work and I can find very little on Google. Do you guys have any idea what causes this issue?

To be clear, clearing the cache and force stopping the app works sometimes, but not 100% of the time. Besides it being a relatively intensive workaround.

I started to have similar issue in recent weeks. The Youtube app version is 2.13.08, running on the Nvdia Shield TV. I found out that signing off then one again repoplulate the home screen with thumbnails but they will go away after watching 1 or 2 videos and go back to home page again!

None of the clearing cache/data, uninstalling/installing methods work. It's so annoying!

(Apart from the home page, all other sections (news, music, subscription etc.) work and display thumbnails accordingly. Is that what you see too?)

The same issue just started happening in the last 48 hours to me on my Chromecast with Google TV on YT app Version 2.13.08. Watch several videos and lose the content on home page. Logoff/Logon restores content but the issue is consistently happening.

Same problem here! I’ve tried everything. Idk whats causing it. I sometimes get this issue fixed but it goes back to “Back to top”

I have it on my TCL Roku TV too. It briefly fixed when I removed the app and reinstalled. I would hate to have to continually do this...
