Management at scale?

by Plausibl3

Has anyone managed AndroidTV in any sort of 'large scale' scenario (more than 5 :D)?

I'm looking to deploy ~35 TVs in a school and am curious about any tips or tricks to make the setup consistent and speedy since I'll have to customize a bit and turn on restrictions.

The TVs will primarily be used for Airplay 2 and Chromecast.

No idea but I'm interested. Make a new Google account and set school as a home then each classroom as rooms batch entry will be hard if the TV's need to unique. Hell at least you don't have to do all the light bulbs too

My school uses an actual Android TV device. They're roughly 50" 1080 panels that have touch Android TV and multiple HDMI ins.

Unfortunately no updates but I have been able to sideload GPS updates and get nearly anything I want working on it.

They also have free screen whiteboard style functions. Math teachers use the shit out if it.

For the life of me I can't remember the manufacturer right now but if you're interested I can find it out next time I'm at school.

What you want is "enterprise" mode. Sadly, Android TV doesn't support this.....

Full enterprise mode really only works on certain Android tablets or phones intended for a "corporate" environment.

However, the older "device owner mode" does work on some Android (not TV) streaming boxes that you can use. It also allows for centralized deployment, app lockdown, etc. Of course those devices won't do chromecast (a "TV" feature)
