Hi,
So I just got a new Sony Bravia 55” A8H and have been having issues with the image quality while watching PL matches using the built in android TV. I’m watching either via the YouTube TV or Peacock apps.
On close up shots, everything looks nice and crisp. But on the wide shots, which accounts for 60+% of match time, the image just feels blurry. The player numbers are almost not distinguishable and you can’t even tell how the ball is rotating.
I’ve adjusted every motion type setting and virtually every other setting (including the “reality creation”, sharpness especially) and nothing has affected the image.
When I tried to chromecast the game from my iPad to the TV it looked more crisp, but suffered from significantly lower FPS, so that isn’t an option either.
It’s weird because we tried a 65” LG OLED for a week but returned it as it was too damn big, but that tv had no issues with the PL on YTTV or Peacock. And when watching other football on my Sony, like the Bundesliga or La Liga on either YTTV or ESPN+ there are no blurriness issues. Also, there are no issues with watching other sports like ice hockey on the TV. It’s literally just the PL image quality.
Has anyone else noticed this or have an idea on how to combat this?
Thanks
Edit: I wasn’t sure if this was the right place to ask, but figure it’s a good place to start.
If you're an Arsenal fan it's not your TV s fault, they just play like shit this year
