If I upgrade to a new Android TV device, can I automatically load all my apps and settings from the older one by just logging into my account?

I have not upgraded to a new device. I only have one Android TV device, the Shield Pro. I don't plan to upgrade it in the near future. However I have little doubt that eventually, I will upgrade it.

I just want to know if it's possible to automatically have my apps and settings installed just by logging in with my account?

It's my understanding that unlike iOS, it's not possible on Android to natively backup and restore a phone exactly as it was, with the user's custom apps and settings. Therefore I am guessing it's the same for Android TV?

The apps you had previously installed should show up during setup wizard on your new device if you log in during the setup process. It won't backup game saves etc this way, unfortunately it depends on each app having its own cloud setup, but apps themselves yes.

On my chrome cast all apps I had installed through the play store were listed as from other devices and I was able to quickly install them.
