Using Flirc to Control Chromecast with Google TV

Question

One of things holding me back from using the Chromecast with Google TV as my daily streamer was being unable to control it with my existing remote.

I have a traditional surround sound system with a slew of devices plugged into an AV Receiver and no matter how hard I try... CEC just never cut it. I'm a huge fan of the Harmony 665 and have used Flircs to flush out the control required for devices like my Sheild TV and HTPC. I was hoping I could rig up something similar to the Chromecast with Google TV.

Today I combined this little guy from Amazon with a USB extension cable I had lying around. Plugged in the Flirc and everything worked perfectly. Just letting everyone know that the option is available.

I would also add that using a usb c hub might be better for some people

Harmony Hub can also control it via Bluetooth.

Sofabaton remote would do the trick too. Has Bluetooth and IR.

anyone knows if i could use my universal remote control (only IR) that came with my Soundbar300 by attaching a FLIRCS to my CWGTV???
