Getting an error with Google Play Movies

On my Sony Bravia, it seems the latest update to Google Play Movies has caused it to have a constant issue when trying to play movies. When I try to play something, I get a vague "There was an error" with no other info. I have tried clearing data with no luck, and the only fix seems to be uninstalling updates but I know that's not a long-term solution.

Is anyone else experiencing this, and if so have you found a fix?

UPDATE: Looks like this was fixed with the March 5th update to Google Play Movies.

We uninstalled the play movies app and then didn't update it. works now.

Hey, I have a Sony Bravia and was having the same issue, but just solved it.

Go into Settings > Apps, select the Google Play Movies app, and then select “Uninstall updates.” It will uninstall and reinstall the app. Then try playing your TV show/movie.

You can report the issue within the Play Movies app on your phone, go to help -> send feedback.
