Disable auto updates on google play store (user icon -> settings -> auto update)
Go to settings -> apps and reset "Android TV Home" to factory settings.
Get the apk of android tv home 2.3.1 (last version without ads, 3.0.10 is with ads) and install it as an update
Edit: there seems to have been some confusion: You DO NOT RESET YOUR ANDROID TV. The only thing you reset is the APP "Android TV Home" This guide works for devices that already have ads
That's a great work around (just like I posted a few months back when it first happened) til it becomes an outdated security risk, which it technically already is.
I'd say the best solution is to not use the Google TV or Leanback launcher.
I've had my tv since 2017 but just updated it for the first time ever, and now it has a hideous ad bar. Would love to roll Android TV Home back but it's not giving me the option: https://streamable.com/nu7v11

When u say add what ads I don’t get ads unless ur talking about the tv show & movie previews that are on the upper top of the homepage
