Try uninstalling updates for AndroidTV Home and Core Services and disable auto-updates on playstore.

I live in Eastern Europe. When I use a VPN app that puts me in the US, these “suggestions” appear. When I turn it back off and either wait a few mins or reboot the TV, they vanish. There are probably better solutions, but you might want to try an Eastern European VPN.
This was tested on a Philips TV.
