Let's say I've got an HDMI streaming stick. Preferably a CCwGTV, but others still apply.
It is connected to an HDMI switch 2in-1out with a gaming console on other input.
The switch is connected to a HDMI audio extractor, leading audio to the audio system.
HDMI out connected to a HDCP Emulator/dummy with a passthrough. Essentially this should do the HDCP handshake, even if TV is off.
Then the emulator out goes to the tv screen.
Summary:
AndroidTV streamer -> HDMI Switch -> HDMI Audio Extractor -> HDMI Dummy with passthrough -> TV Screen.
The idea behind this monstrosity to have Android tv and Gaming Console working as a smart speaker even if the TV is off.
What issues will i have because the chain is long and full of terrors?
I'll start:
- HDMI-CEC will not work
- [unconfirmed] HDCP handshake will fail more times than comfortable resulting black screen
- [unconfirmed] Desynchronized audio and video
- [unconfirmed] Video latency unbearable for gaming
