This is getting super frustrating.
Netflix on my android TV just stutters and boots me out the application constantly back to the android home menu.
Same was happening with other apps like Dis and Prime.
I thought it may be because I bought a crap cheap sharp TV for like 400 bucks new. I guess you get what you pay for. However this still seems ridiculous. I contacted sharp and they sent me a software update on a USB stick which I put into the TV and did the update but no improvement.
It cannot be that an android TV regardless of the price cannot process basic things like Netflix? What gives?
I see other posts about apps not working on Android TV.
Any solutions other then 'hard reset' which I've done a few times???

Don't blame Sharp nor Android TV, blame Netflix, one thing you must learn about apps crashing is that the developer receives a report about it at the Play Store Console, provided you have active the option to share usage and data in your TV settings.
If you do, it's a matter of time for Netflix to fix the issue and deliver an update.
