I'm considering buying the new Chromecast with Google TV but I was wondering if it can be used without a Google account ? I do not have nor want to create a Google account and I never had any problems with Chromecasts or Android phones so far.
Would I be able to use an alternate store such as AuroraStore for exemple ?

I don't see why you couldn't create a unique account just for TV, set up the CCwGTV, then delete the account from your phone though.
Just create a throwaway gmail account. I do that with all my android tv devices. No way would I ever use my main google account.
No, you need a Google Account to set it up, to download apps and to use it.
Also, YouTube can only use the accounts that are already signed on to the Google TV itself.
