Eh. I picked up a Verizon Stream TV Gen 2 (S905x4 based) for $30 US. That one has an official version of Android TV and runs Netflix.
These boxes are meant to be running something like Coreelec. I wouldn't spend more than what I paid for it.
Overkill for an FHD TV and below, undesirable for a dumb 4K TV without Netflix. Better suitable for a Roku Smart 4K TV (that has native Netflix). Too expensive for an android gaming box (can get an S905x3 4/64GB for under $50 Canadian)
Do people really care what the box looks like? Put some of that dev into the remote instead of using the same mushy jankass clickwheel switches as every other ATV box.
I have one on order....
FYI, check out clarkss12 review on youtube (under the name Ronnie Bailey). He has a link in the comments section for a Netflix app that you can sideload and plays up to 4K. I don't have a 4K TV, but can confirm it plays 1080p (testing on a friends 4K TV tomorrow to see it handle Netflix 4K).
Had this box for about 3 days and impressed with its snappiness. Next on the agenda, install Retroarch.
I see a lot of bashing "why would people buy this trash..." etc... It runs official Android TV 10, 4gb ram, newest Amlogic S905X4 SoC, Gigabit ethernet, USB 3.0, nd with the modified Netflix can run it up to 4K , just to name a few reasons. Oh and its $100 less than the Nvidia Shield as I got it for $100 shipped (did take about 3 weeks). So i've been too cheap to pay $200 for a streaming device (Shield), the $100 price tag still looks high, but better than $200.
Is this box for everyone? Of course not, but lot of haters that just bash (sometimes without reasons to explain why its not worth it)
I have no idea about TV boxes, is this thing good for streaming PC games to the TV? I can't afford an Nvidia Shield.
If not, any good and cheap recommendations?
Probably not worth the money but interesting industrial design choice at the least. If actual wood was used and wasn't covered in cheap looking high gloss coat and the logo was engraved instead, this might've been one of the coolest looking streaming device.
i'm a little confused why anyone would want this over something like a firetv cube (s922 is still faster i beleieve), or even just a chromecast with google tv (s905x3, but official netflix 4k etc.).
Is it have a certificate DRM for Netflix so we can stream 4k or HD videos instead of SD?
I don't know why people buy trash ass Android boxes that don't support Netflix natively. Just buy a god damn shield and be done.
Because I’m able to download any app I want? I can enable my VPN on the device etc etc
Got one of these that I use with my Samsung TV, however the thing keeps going to sleep, even when set to never sleep, TV's HDMI power setting all turned off - damn thing
I got two off this boxes just arrived, amazon prime was, installed, all ready, i install Netflix side loaded, nija, mod apk, Netflix streem good quality pictures don't have 4k premium to check 4k , Box works well, defo is better than xiaomi mibox 4k that I had previously
Can anyone confirm this is working on the KM6 Deluxe:

Do these boxes work OK with a VPN so that you can watch geo-restricted content? I've got a couple of VPN services, but not sure if I just need to install or sideload the Android app, or does the VPN service need to have a specific Android TV app?
Not sure how it works as I've never had an Android TV device before. I'm just using the VPN on my Windows PC right now to watch through a web browser.
is the HDR always on? or automatic like the chromcast google tv?
You can get 4K Netflix on KM6. Here is the tutorial
Never buying this crap again, it's advisable to spend more and get something better that just works rather than spending time on fixing these crap boxes.
