I live in Asia and the TV's here been had android tv. It sucks. Shit is slow and painful to use. Better just get a dumb tv and buy the new Google tv chromecast
I picked up a TCL Android TV on Black Friday to replace an older secondary TV. I already had a CCWGTV on our main TV. The only real difference between the two is the integration across streaming platforms on the main page of the CCWGTV. Otherwise, for me, it's six of one, half dozen of the other. I'm comfortable with just going into my streaming apps and looking for stuff there. I don't need CCWGTV to recommend a whole bunch of shit from the apps I have no interest in. I'm constantly finding old hokey TV shows like the Donna Reed Show being recommended or bazillions of movies I've already seen.
Roku is far better than Android TV
I have Shield , but I prefer Roku as much as I can.
