The app is indeed shite. They should add a mouse pointer. It’s unstable and conflicts with some apps. I’m on ios using this app, the philips tv remote app, and kodi remote app.
My kids broke the new Google TV remote so I had to use this remote on Android while I waited for the replacement. It's... fine. Works best if you switch to swipe mode.
The equivalent app that's specifically for the Nvidia Shield TV range is pretty decent, but I have no idea if it's possible to get it working with other Android TV setups.
Don't worry, same thing on Android

It’s horrible I’ve to re enter the pairing number EVERY time I use the app, on my old android it remembered me so each time i opened the app the remote was there
The app works fine for me. Why fix what isn’t broken?
It hasn't been touched on Android either...
