Maybe I'm confused by the term chromecast, but does this device need a phone or computer casting to it? I'm looking for a Plex device that might need to do disney+, discovery+ etc for the parents and the shield is over kill (though necessary if is the only one lol). I use a mibox and it's 'fine' lol but the stick is terrible and the mibox s isn't on sale anymore (at that price point)
The legacy chromecast is the one that needs a phone to cast to it, the new Chromecast comes with Google TV, a brand new interface built on top of the already Android TV OS, which means you can use its included remote control to move around the interface as you would do with Android TV and also cast to it as it's been done with regular chromecasts.
