In this case i'm able to access Hulu from my desktop browser and pc app.
When i try on my tv or xbox it recognizes it's outside of my home network. Any way of "middle-maning" the traffic so that the tv traffic looks like the desktop?

Die Browser sends to the Webserver its operating system to help the server choose the correct format. on a phone you can go to the settings and chose "use desktop page" or something so that that browser imitates a normal desktop browser
edit: but some things, like certain scripts or plug-ins, could still not work because the console or TV just doesn't support it
