I have the same issue; it's not internet speed. The latest update that added "new Pi remote support" or whatever, broke the decoder for videos, streamed or otherwise.
Maybe Xiaomi will fix it in a timely fashion, probably not.
I have the same problem too. I don’t think it is an issue with the internet speed. It is just the way the videos are decoded/rendered, whatever. It just doesn’t work well on Android TV OS.
I recently switched to Apple TV 4K and it works beautifully. No streaming issues anymore.
