Get rid of paid app recommendations for apps I don't have installed

I got one of the new Chromecast with GoogleTV and the biggest gripe i have is it forcing content from apps I don't subscribe to.

All over the home screen are suggestions for Peacock and H I and other services I don't have installed or subscribe to. The most annoying are the Google play suggestions for paid content from their service.

Is there a way to remove all suggestions for content outside of the apps on the device? I've checked my services and I don't have anything besides what I subscribe to checked.

Thoughts?

If you bought something from Google, you bought a device for Google to show you ads.

That's what they do.

You can install a different launcher. There are some threads one here about doing it.

Probably good idea to try getting another as default. Im doing this myself.

Edit: Just realized the Google assistant doesn't work in apps only mode. Very annoying
