Current Chromecast with Google TV Issues

Is anyone else having the following issues with certain apps on their Chromecast with Google TV?

CNN - Doesn't fully open. When the app is launched it shows a CNN loading screen and then crashes back to the home page.

NBC Sports - When I try to play any live event the app returns an internal error message saying 'Unable to retrieve data. Retry"

Hulu - Nothing will play in 5.1 surround (even via casting from my phone). Hulu lists the Chromev6 w/GTV as compatible, but not titles list 5.1 in the details page.

Note, I've done basic troubleshooting with no success (reinstall, clear cache/data, etc.). Also, on my Roku device plugged into the same TV all of the above issues do not occur.

When an app crashes, a crash report is sent to the developer through the Google Play Console, provided you have active an option in settings to share this information, I don't remember exactly the name of the option but it's there, It's something related to share usage with Google. If the developer receives this information, it may help to fix the issue which is released in a future update of the app.

I don't use Hulu because I live outside the US, but, if the 5.1 doesn't appear on the details page, the reason may be similar as with Netflix, on Netflix you'll only see the 5.1 logo when the device is connected to a TV or AV receiver with Dolby Digital Plus decoding through HDMI. I'm not sure that's the reason but I can't think of any other.

the CNN issue is ongoing (lots of reviews in the play store saying the same thing). I was able to sideload an old version of the app and that works. if you do that I'd recommend disabling auto-updating of apps to keep it from updating to the broken version.
