For TVs with the built-in mic it would be great if the assistant functionality could be disabled when the TV is playing content. More often than not a TV show seems to trigger the assistant.
I’m fine with using the remote’s button activated mic when I do need it but I like having the TV’s mic active when content isn’t playing (or the TV is off) because it is a decent assistant in the living room.
I believe you can control this through the Google Home app on a per device basis. I disable the wake words on all my TVs because for a while it would activate and lower the audio no matter which Assistant device you were talking to which drives people crazy if you are in the basement asking for music and they are watching a show upstairs because it would do it EVERYWHERE.
