I recently got a TCL with Android TV. I previously used a 2nd gen Chromecast on my old non-smart tv. With that I could control playback on whatever I was streaming with voice commands to the Google Home. Can I use voice commands through my GH to control Android tv? I assumed it could because it seems simple enough but I’m having trouble.
My tv is definitely connected to my GH network with all of my other smart devices. I can control playback and volume on the GH app. As I was playing around trying to solve this I was able to use GH to turn my tv off but could not turn it back on. Once I did so manually I couldn’t turn it off again. Later when I asked my speaker to open Youtube on my tv it started playing some random YT video. Am I missing something in the setup or is Android TV just not capable of this kind of control? Thanks
You need to enable "Networked standby". It is under Network & internet settings menu.
