So I got two Android TV in my home. The first one is Coocaa, it was intended for experience test only, but Apparatus, we (my family) have a good time on it, so we bought another one from Changhong. One thing I noticed is my Coocaa's TV is a SWTV, and my Changhong's TV is an AI PONT. What's the difference between the two? Are there another type of Android TV beside SWTV and AI PONT?
Changhong and Skyworth are among the biggest Android TV manufacturers.
So they sell Android TV televisions under their own brand but also to other TV brands, basically using the same hardware with a different design/branding.
AI PONT is just the name used by Changhong (SoC: Mstar T16 for HD or Mstar T22 for 4K).
SWTV is the name used by Skyworth (SW3 uses the Mediatek MT5597 and SW4 the Mediatek T32).
Check this list and search "AI PONT" or "SWTV", you'll see it's used by a bunch of TV brands: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kdnHLt673EjoAJisOal2uIpcmVS2Defbgk1ntWRLY3E/edit#gid=1566561225
You'll also see that other ODM are using other names. Other big one are Hisense, Haier, Express Luck, Chongqing HKC, Shenzhen MTC, TCL, Funai, TP Vision.
