I recently purchased the new Chromecast with Google TV and while things run fine in general, watching content on Netflix is impossible to watch due to very unbalanced audio where any music or background noise simply drowns out the dialogue.
This does not happen on the TV channels themselves and also not on the embedded Netflix App on my Sony Bravia TV. I actually had to switch back to that slow and terrible App about 10 minutes in because it was unbearable.
I have tried turning off the Surround Sound toggle in the Settings, but unfortunately this change made 0 difference. I have also tried to switch the general sound settings on my TV but also this made no difference (tried Clear Voice option, Automatic Audio, etc.)
Netflix is the streaming app I use the most so if I can't use it, there is not much point using the new Chromecast sadly.
Does anyone have/had similar issues? Any idea on how to tweak this?
This seems to happen with all apps that I have on my Chromecast, but only for newer content. Playing an older show (e.g. Seinfeld) on Plex does not seem to be an issue, whereas playing a more recent show does.
