TCL C716 HDR on PS4 Fat

by NoSirThatsANoGo

Recently, I bought a TCL 55C716. I pulled the trigger even though there are not a lot of reviews for this model. I bought this for around $590 here in PH. Since we're still waiting for the PS5 release here in our country, I'm using this TV for my 2nd gen PS4 fat. When I tried to use the HDR on PS4 there is a noticeable delay on the audio. When the HDR is on, the shotclock, buzzer and whistle sound (NBA 2K20) from the TV lags behind the sound coming from the controller speaker. But when I turn off the HDR, they seem to be in sync. I tried to tweak a lot of settings from the TV, turn on the Game Mode, and replace the HDMI cable to 2.0 but it was the same. Is anybody here experiencing the same issue? Does this also happen when using PS4 Pro/PS5? I'm afraid that this will also be an issue when my PS5 arrives.

PS. There is also an audio delay when using the Bitstream (Dolby/DTS) on PS4 but I fixed it by using Linear PCM.

Not really going to be helpful, but have you tried to upgrade the software with the latest version?

The software shipped in the HK version is really out of date and full of security holes. The TV is more responsive after upgrading to the EU software.

I bought the TV to play with PS5 too but didn't get one yet. I'm not very confident it will work at all - the processor is so slow for example it seems to only get 30Mbps internet when my computer gets 400Mbps. Netflix quality is shocking.

Probably will need to upgrade to a Samsung later.
