How can I set the resolution on my Android TV?

by trogdorr

The settings menu doesn't have any options for setting resolution. My TV is 4K so Android is outputting at 4K, but I prefer for it to run at 1080P instead.

My TV only supports 30hz at 4K so I'd rather do 1080p at 60hz.

Is there an app in the store that can force a lower resolution or any other solution?

The box in question is the Dynalink Android TV from Walmart.

It's usually done by going to "Setting" (the gear in the upper left corner) > "Device Preferences" > "Display" > "Screen Resolution"

Then turn the "Auto Switch to recommended..." to "off"

Then go to "Display Mode" and then pick the resolution you want to use.

Then select "OK" when the screen changes and it asks you if this is working/what you want.

I hope this made sense and was helpful.

Good luck!

This is true, no display setting on this version of Androidtv.

Only way I know to change is ADB in and do this:

adb shell wm size 3840x2160

and then change density...

adb shell wm density 240 (play around with this number depending on the size of your tv)

Yes. You can adjust using these steps:

Step 1: Setting

Step 2: Apps

Step 3: See all App

Step 4: Droid settings

Step 5: Open

You'll find resolution and other settings there.
