Google TV keeps dropping connection

by 9646gt

Hey guys, my Google TV shows an excellent connection to my ATT wifi gateway with gigabit service. Yet it has issues maintaining a connection where it will pop up that it has reconnected to wifi and will sometimes lose the connection all together and stop streaming. I have tried a factory reset, forget and re add connection, plugged the device I to an HDMI extension to move it clearly out into the open and it is currently only about 6 feet from the gateway.

I have no idea what else to try. Anyone else had this issue? How hard it is to get the device replaced to see if that's the issue? It was purchased from the Google store.

I expect it to be the 5GHz WiFi issue the CCGTV dongle has problem with, on some users home router setups. Either use 2.4GHz WiFi only or change 5GHz WiFi channels.

Google has to fix the problem.

By any chance do you have a soundbar with a wireless subwoofer? I was having 5ghz issues with my nest wifi mesh and that was the culprit.

I’m having the same issue.

It's not 5G/2.4G.

Are you using a static DHCP? This was my issue, using pi-hole to block all ads and had to change router option to static.

Loads of WiFi connection issues. Turn this off and works fine now.

It started after the last System Update, and no other device has that issue.

Oh wow, it sees I'm late to the party as I'm experiencing exactly the same issues. I assume this is still the case for everybody? I've read all of the replies and I don't see any clear fix for now :(
