Is there any way to improve performance? Also, it seems to turn off completely after a while rather than be asleep so I have to unplug it then plug it back in.
How much of an improvement would a Chromecast with GoogleTV be over my current MiBox?
It's not the 4k Mi Box or the Mi Box S. It was released before these different versions came out and there was only one.

CCGTV dongle is noticable faster because it has two generation better AMLogic chipset in it vs the 2016 era Mi Box. (S905D3 aka S905X3 vs S905X). Also faster RAM / eMMC storage and more optimised Android 10 OS.
However CCGTV dongle has worse out of the box connectivity because of no standard USB2 port and it does not support NTFS hard drives / storage.
No auto Frame Rate Matching functionality either with CCGTV dongle.
