I used to have a Chromecast ultra plugged into my TV and I could say play music on my dining room TV and it would turn on the TV and switch inputs automatically.
I recently replaced it with a Google TV with Chromecast. Now when I request music via Google home, it turns on the TV but doesn't switch the input which is quite frustrating.
Any ideas why this is happening and what I can do to fix?
Mine does nothing, just sits there and MAYBE if I wait long enough it just closes the inputs screen. I've remapped the inputs button to something else for now, using the button mapper app.
Make sure the HDMI-CEC setting in the device is turned ON.
Legacy Chromecast devices had everything turned ON by default since there are no settings inside unlike Android TV devices (the new CC is just an ATV device with a different interface).
Mine is the same well kinda....it takes a good 30 sec to switch
