I’m considering getting a mibox and saw it doesn’t have a physical connection only WiFi. The box will sit near the router which seems a bit of a shame since I have great download speeds. My question is how much of an impact using the wifi over a physical connection will have on streaming 4K content.
I just bought the Mibox S a month ago and I was worried about tje wifi speeds after reading the reviews. I decided to give a a try first. The first thing I saw when I installed the device is that there was an update that fixed the wifi issue, especiallyon the 5ghz band. Until today I still have to encounter the connection problem, maybe because my router sits on top of the display unit with the mibox just the shelve below, so they are pretty close. I use the Analiti app to test and never gets better speed. I have a 100m line and never gets above 95 upload or download on PC or Phone. The mibox never drops below 90 and picks at 98mbps both download and upload
Buy the new chromecast the mi box S is so slow and old now
You can get a Ethernet USB adapter (I bought the Gbit one from Ugreen) and it will work fine in the case you notice any lag while streaming
