I think the app will never be available for other Android TV devices since AT&T has its own Android TV device with the app built-in called AT&T TV, take a look:
i've been sharing this for a while with my friend, he loads it on his shield and works fine. the guy kind of keeps up to date with the new versions but i havent myself as i no longer have an account with AT&T/DirectTV.
