Does everyone know about button mapper? It's so great for TVs with built in AndroidTV.

I just got an Sony OLED with Android TV and the button mapper app is so awesome.

I mapped the color buttons to open apps:

Yellow - Plex

Red - YouTube, (double click) YouTube Music

Green - Hulu

Blue - Prime Video

re-mapped the Google Play button to YouTube TV (kept Google Play as the double click)

It's awesome enough for how easy it makes life but it's a total game changer for the wife factor.

I think it was like $5 but money very well spent. Simple function, perfect execution.

I just programmed the useless JUMP button to this URL: https://youtu.be/SwYN7mTi6HM

Launches it in the YouTube app.

Yep, works great with Harmony Remotes as well

Yes I'm having fun with it. I wish they had channel +/- buttons on their app though. I'd love to reprogram a couple of buttons on my Chromecast google tv remote for channel changing on YTTV.

Its also great for xcloud as it allowed me to map my controller so i can launch xcloud as well as exit the game without ever having to grab the remote. There was a free version on shield tv and i ended up buying the app, however everything i ended up setting up could be done with the free version.

On shield TV Remote Netflix button, kids would hit it and open it fairly often.

Single Press - nothing happens

Double Press - Opens Live Channels app

Long Press - Opens Netflix

On Xbox Controller

Center Xbox Button - double tap to launch xcloud. So essential i hold the xbox button and turn the gamepad on, then just tap it twice again to launch the app without needing a sideload app.

Select/View button mapped as back button from remote on a long press. This allows me to exit the xcloud game without needing the shield tv remote. One thing i would recommend, increase the delay time for this as some games require you to hold the button a little bit to access the game map.

Agree, definitely one of the best apps for AndroidTV. It's worth mentioning that the Pro version is much better than free because it opens up a few advanced options that are not even visible in the free version (so would you wouldn't immediately know that it can do these things) i.e. HTTP GET/POST, shell command, broadcast intent.

Worth every penny.

Yup been using it for awhile and love it!

When my gf gifted me Samsung device I hated the Bixby button, so tried this app. Immediately fell in love with it and bought paid version.

Recently we bought Nokia TV and because of it's stupid manufacturing it was not easy to make this app working. I bricked my TV and had to hard reset and successfully made it work. Now I'm using all buttons with several shortcuts and actions. It's always best.

Only con is enabling this app 'long pressing volume buttons' won't work to reduce the speaker sound.

The free version can do basic stuff like map buttons to app shortcuts. The $5 payment is for more advanced functionality.

It is a pretty great app, I agree.

Yes. Super awesome app. I got Kodak TV with big remote and I don't use Online services (Mostly offline media). By accident, I saw this app and give a try. It was not easy to enable the Accessibility services. I had to dig for 15 minutes with different settings and finally got it working (Had to hold Home + Down button to activate accessibility services).

The Long press, double press are added advantage to hide apps from Kids/others.

Simple interface, lagless function, no ads. Can't say more. The Must have app for Android TV users with big remote. Feel pity for Mi TV users.

Does anyone know of one that works with TCL 65S434? I tried the one you linked but it doesn't detect the Youtube or Netflix button. Other buttons are detected but I'd rather not change them.

Thanks for pointing this out, I hadn't run into it yet.

Yup I have almost the same setup, the yellow plex button is a gamechanger

Love this one! Thanks for sharing!

I use the free version of button mapper, but did NOT think of mapping the coloured buttons to streaming apps!!! You genius. Thank you.

Downloaded this on my Bravia x75h tv and when I turn tv channels, an accessibility text to speech voice reads the channel and show info out loud. Not the built in song one, but through the button mapper app. It only goes away when I turn the app off. Anyone know of a fix?
