By any chance have you rooted your phone? If you have, Netflix can disappear from the store since your device now is no longer compatible. That could be how it makes this list, by checking what streaming services your phone can see.
Looking at the replies, there seems to be a lot of confusion.
They are not talking about the Netflix app. They are talking about Google TV tying in with Netflix where it will show you Netflix content on the home screen and let you search Netflix content using the built in search function.
Given the Netflix button on the Chromecast remote, I highly doubt that
Pretty sure it's pre installed because of that fancy button on the remote.
Missing for me, too. Very odd.
Definitely looks like they did on phone at least. Searching in Google TV doesn't seem to show what's on Netflix anymore.
Some apps have to be connected in the home app. It's a fucking mess.
isn't netflix already installed?
Now that would be funny
On Google TV it doesn't let you disable it either. It says something like "Netflix is connected to your Google account. To remove suggestion, disconnect it from your Google account."
Mine disappeared too, but it's still working.
My account is still linked in the Google Assistant >> Video Services and on Google Search
I tried to find a way to contact Google about this, but the contact options in the app are not working right now. Does anyone know how to get a definitive answer from Google?
Which app on the phone is this? Is this again region locked nonsense?
On the Google chromecast device I can only link Netflix, even prime and Disney that are out here aren't there. Such a pity how Google does this!
It looks like I wasn't crazy! https://9to5google.com/2020/11/25/google-tv-netflix-dropped/
On my new chromecast with google tv it’s still there linked under my services
I see the incognito icon there. You dirty dog :D
