Philips 43PUS7354/12 turning on by itself

by [deleted]

I've seen a couple of threads with this issue, but I have yet to find a solution.

My TV keeps turning on by itself, and it always starts with Google Movies trailers. The only way I can go to this mode myself is to press the "TV"-button on the remote (Imagelink on bottom). It happens most during the night, and I think it only happens when I am near the TV, as if it has some sensor or something. The frequency varies. The other night it turned itself on 2-3 times in two hours. I removed remote batteries to see if the remote was faulty, but it happened again. I've factory reset the TV.

I know it has turned itself on the moment I've entered the room or sometimes passed the TV.

I've seen some forums suggesting some IR-blaster (?) from the phone could be the issue, but wouldn't it happen all the time if that was the issue? I'ev also tried literally dancing in front of the TV to see if there is some motion detection or anything, though that wouldn't make sense as it keeps turning on at night (When I'm not moving).

I have a USB-drive connected, but it does happen with and without it. No HDMI connected. Power unplugged multiple times Factory reseted Only one phone in the room (Galxy S9).

Anyone experienced anything similar?

Is under warranty? Is it left on standby ? Sounds like mainboard . When u plug it in from cold ,is there any crackle or buzz where the mains plug is .The PSu sits there . Is firmware current aswell ?

Having almost the same issue, mine starts by itself but on random TV channels. Software up to date, had it sent under warranty in service and they replace the MB. Same happening even after that. I'm also interested in this, if anybody has a solution. The phone sensor somehow makes sense, but yeah, it does not happen all the time when I'm in the room with my phone (Samsung Note 8).

Christ I wish I'd read about all these issues before I bought mine.

I occasionally have this issue, but I believe it's down to the remote. I was trying to sleep one night and the damn thing kept turning on and playing movie trailers, every 5 minutes.

In my half awoken rage, I ripped the batteries out of the remote and it stopped doing it.

I have a Philips Android TV and noticed exactly the same. However, it does not happen every night. It usually happens when the last thing I watched was a TV channel directly on the TV itself (so not from an HDMI source or from an app).

In my network logs, I notice that the TV connects to the network every night at 4 AM and then disconnects again exactly 9 minutes later. This happens every night.

Anyone figure this out? I have a Phillips TV and an iPhone. My TV randomly comes on at different times. Mostly when no one’s in the room. I’ll just be in the back room and hear talking and find the TV on again.
