CCWGTV external storage issue

by pmoney00

Anyone have chromecast google tv set up with external storage? I seem to have a problem when trying to add a flash drive 64GB or higher. It doesn't not read it, just comes up 'safely ejected' in storage settings. Not sure if it's an issue with the hub I bought or if it's the chromast that doesn't support 64GB drives or higher? ( Tried a few flash drives and works fine with 32GB)

First step: format the flash drive to FAT32.

So long as it’s FAT32 it should work, all other formats say safely ejected.

I have a 128 gb hooked up to mine... I had a similar issue and I just had to play around with booting the device with and without the storage, but once I was able to get it to recognize it and format it as device storage, it recognizes it every time now

I found a fix, search for JS OTG on the App Store and install, it reads external hard drives comfortably then download vlc to play videos, unfortunately large external hard drives cannot be integrated with ccwgtv for now.
